Our world is plagued with many challenges of varying degree. Areas that have high levels of poverty, crime, and human rights injustices often do not have societies that live in harmony amongst each other.
In order to confront these challenges head on, the United Nations encourages all to look at the purest form of human solidarity, which is friendship. The U.N. declared July 30th as International Friendship Day. This day was established to celebrate humanity and the bonds we create in our lives.
Through friendship — by developing and nurturing g strong ties of trust — we are able to contribute to the core shifts that are necessary in order to reach lasting stability, safety and genuine passion for a better world where all people are united for the greater good.
