Health Is A Right, Not A Privilege.

Medical expenses have pushed over 100 million people into poverty each year. Out-of-pocket medical expenses take a toll on many families’ lives. The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has said that health is a human right not a privilege and that more countries should invest in primary health care.

To cover unplanned medical expenses many people have been forced to use their life savings,  borrow money and even destroy their futures and those of their children. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) include good health and well being. Good health helps create long-term economic development and helping people escape from poverty.

WHO has made universal health coverage its number one goal. It wants to ensure that everyone can obtain the care they need and when they need it.
