Dedicated towards building a better tomorrow

MISSION: our mission is to advocate solving global issues by promoting a sense of social responsibility and social awareness. We strive to achieve and help others achieve self and social fulfillment in order to positively impact families, communities and societies around the world.

The World Human Accountability Organization (WHAO) is a growing 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in New York City with partners and activities throughout Asia, North America and Africa. WHAO has 3 major areas of focus, which are Equality in Education, Poverty Relief, and Environmental Protection. Our approach works as an ecosystem that includes improving global healthcare access, eliminating poverty, creating economic opportunities, protecting the environment, fostering cultural awareness, promoting education, striving for world peace and giving back through philanthropy. Our organization is currently seeking opportunities to collaborate with other organizations and individuals to impact and inspire more people.

Protecting the Environment

Mass destruction of forests, river and ocean contamination, depletion of natural resources and countless more harmful human activities all contribute to the harmful effects of climate change. In order to promote industrialization and economic growth, our societies have continued to ignore the signs for decades. This has caused a significant number of devastating consequences to all aspects of our environment, including changes in weather patterns, continuous rising of sea level and a multitude of natural disasters. In addition, greenhouse gas emission from human activities are continuing to increase, making climate change the worse throughout history, which is why it is our responsibility to take immediate action to protect our environment.

“Dedicated towards building a better tomorrow” is the motto World Human Accountability Organization (WHAO) stand by, and one of our primary goals is to protect the environment. Our organization seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by coordinating with other international organizations to help move developing countries towards an environmentally-friendly, low-carbon economy. By providing local communities and businesses with access to basic financial services and more efficient ways to utilize their resources, we hope to help implement sustainable energy consumption and renewable energy (“doing more and better with less”) during the early stages of economic development. This would not only be highly-beneficial to the environment, but also increase profits and improve the overall quality of life for the people of the community.

In July of 2017, WHAO organized and hosted a Global Sustainability Conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City with over fifty business leaders, politicians and community service activists present at the conference.

Creating Economic Opportunities

Millions of people around the world do not have access to financial services, and every day, these individuals are struggling to earn the money necessary to provide for their family and loved ones. To combat this global issue, our organization has dedicated a great deal of our time and funds towards creating economic opportunities by improving local transportations, providing financial services and promoting economic productivity. With more efficient modes of transportation, isolated neighborhoods would have better connectivity to opportunity-rich areas. Financial services would be able to help communities build up and self-sustain their economic systems and individuals would be able to better manage their profits to support their families with a stable income. This includes opening small businesses, starting product trades, etc. Another important aspect is to promote economic productivity. However, this requires multidimensional action. WHAO will coordinate with local community leaders to adapt new ways to achieve more productive economic growth, including improving agricultural yields, conserving natural resources and expanding infrastructure. These key innovations will help us create more economic opportunities for undeveloped areas and generate livelihoods throughout the process.

Striving for World Peace

At WHAO, we believe that teamwork is an integral part to accomplish anything and everything, which is why we have built a multi-aspect team and are constantly welcoming new members to join us in our journey to helping to build a better future. In addition, our organization will collaborate with other non-profits, businesses and individuals to promote and thrive for world peace by speaking with our actions. Although peace may seem to be a commodity in short supply in recent years, WHAO is hoping to create and promote peace starting from small communities around the world. As more people realize that peace connects us all together internally, world peace would no longer be the conceptual, unachievable ideal people have in mind. Instead by “being the change we wish to see in the world”, we can convince the world that peace between every nation, society and community is indeed possible to achieve, and as people become motivated by this idea, peace will follow us like a shadow to the body.

Promoting Education

With millions of children around the world unable to attend an educational facility and even more without the necessary proper education, our world is at risk of being drawn into a vicious cycle of inadequate education and abject poverty, with all of the problems that it entails. This will not only endanger our future generations of children, but also entire families, societies and even countries. To put an end to this vicious cycle, it is our foremost responsibility to help provide every individual with access to proper education. As Nelson Mandela once said, “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”, which makes it even more crucial for us to help spread knowledge even to the smallest corners of this world.

To put effective educational plans into action for all children around the world requires strong education systems that are transparent and responsive to the communities they serve. To help build a codependent relationship between the education systems and their communities, WHAO will work closely with both parties and coordinate amongst individuals (including teachers, administrators, community leaders and other essential staff), infrastructure (including safe, age-appropriate facilities and transportation) and other necessary institutions (including financial services). We will also take part in building schools or strengthening existing education systems within local communities to ensure quality education for children of all ages. This includes improving educational planning, financial management, implementing development plans/inform policies and making the system as transparent as possible. This way the citizens of the communities will be reassured knowing of the system is being managed and can then provide necessary constructive criticism and feedback to our work.

In August of 2017, the World Human Accountability Organization hosted an educational event at an elementary school in Ghana, led by Mr. Boakye Ofori Atta (WHAO Executive Secretary of Ghana). The goal was to promote STEM education and the career possibilities that could be attained through education. In addition, Mr. Boakye and the WHAO formed a scholarship foundation to provide financial aid for student to further their education.

Fostering Cultural Awareness

Children are the key to the future sustainable development of every nation, society and community. Yet every year, millions of children around the world are unable to attend a proper educational facility and achieve their full potential due to health issues, inadequate resources and poor learning environments. The dangers of being physically ill, mentally oblivious or emotionally unstable reach far beyond the lives of children and their families, but can also affect the future development of communities and entire nations. In addition to providing access to  quality early childhood care and education, understanding cultural identity and fostering cultural awareness from early childhood are ways to ensure a cognizant, yet open mindset for all children.

Our team will work with other organizations to build educational facilities and create programs that will promote cultural diversity and awareness. By incorporating materials from a range of different cultural, national and ethnic backgrounds, we hope to promote cross-cultural understanding and nurture students to accept and embrace all human beings. In the future, this will also help them learn the ability to operate effectively in a multicultural workplace environment and become valued members of society by reaching their full potential.

Eliminating Poverty

To this day, poverty still remains as a major global challenge, posing a significant threat to the world’s population. This includes the inability to meet basic life needs such as clean, drinkable water, decent food, comfortable housing and access to education. However, the percentage of the world’s population living in extreme poverty decreased from 37.1% to 9.6% between the years of 1990 and 2015, according to the World Bank. Although this significant decline proves to the world that eliminating poverty is entirely achievable, there is still a long way to go, which is why we strive, like many others, to put an end to poverty.

One of our primary goals is to help people living in extreme poverty achieve major, permanent improvements in their lives. To do this, WHAO seeks to support communities through difficult times by providing them with access to clean water, shelter, food and education. While helping communities gain access to clean water and sanitation, it is also important to demonstrate the necessary approaches to prevent environmental pollution. It is also crucial to empower young children with hope and convince that they have the ability to change the future, so that the poverty cycle can ultimately be brought to an end.

In November of 2017, Chairman Zhu coordinated with Mrs. Hongxia Deng from the local health center in Liangshan, Sichuan to establish a WHAO workstation in the area to provide long-term aid for children suffering in unhealthy living conditions. Together, the team handed out living necessities such as food, clothes and other items to the local residents.

Giving Back Through Philanthropy

Although WHAO is far from success, giving back through philanthropy is one of the many ways WHAO expresses our gratitude and support to the world around us. Rather than focusing on eliminating people’s suffering, philanthropy can help eliminate these social problems from the roots causes. This includes providing unprivileged communities with daily necessities, constructing transportation systems and setting up financial services to help build a self-sustainable economic system. In the future, we hope to create and support additional projects that the entire community will benefit from, such as libraries, museums and scientific research. This process will not only allow us to build trustworthy relationships with local communities, but most importantly, give others a chance to help make the world around us a better place to live in.

Healthcare Services

The World Human Accountability Organization (WHAO) aims to help protect individuals worldwide who are suffering from diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, cancer and to promote women’s and children’s health, in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By setting up and providing access to healthcare services around the world, our organization hopes to improve global health with continuous effort. In the future, we anticipate to join forces with other non-profit organizations to encourage and assist medical doctors, public health specialists, scientists and other experts in related fields to invent new vaccinations and treat patients on the ground, which will help save countless lives worldwide.
